Ten inches, with a green obsidian sphere at the pommel, on a three-quarter-inch handle with the crystals set into the grip rather than engraved on the blade. Obsidian is volcanic glass — lava cooled too fast for crystals to form — and the green comes from iron and magnesium held in the melt. Clear green obsidian is uncommon, which is most of why this one looks the way it does.
What is in the handle
Every sword Tom makes is built the same way: over four hundred crushed power crystals, seven meteorites, sacred volcanic material, waters gathered from Kailash to Antarctica, eighteen star elixirs and seven planetary elixirs — bound in selenite and sealed inside the handle. Once it is wrapped, none of it is visible again. More about how they are made.
Before you buy. Selenite is water-soluble and soft — softer than a fingernail in places. It does not want damp cloths, direct sun or a hot car. Please read care and handling first; it takes two minutes and it is the difference between a piece that lasts and one that does not.
