The smallest sword Tom makes: eight and a half inches on a half-inch handle, with an amethyst point at the flame. Amethyst is quartz turned violet by traces of iron acted on by natural radiation over geological time — heat the same crystal and the colour shifts to the yellow of citrine, which is why the two so often come out of the same ground. This is the one that travels, and usually the one people buy first.
What is in the handle
Every sword Tom makes is built the same way: over four hundred crushed power crystals, seven meteorites, sacred volcanic material, waters gathered from Kailash to Antarctica, eighteen star elixirs and seven planetary elixirs — bound in selenite and sealed inside the handle. Before you buy. Selenite is water-soluble and soft — softer than a fingernail in places. It does not want damp cloths, direct sun or a hot car. Please read care and handling first; it takes two minutes and it is the difference between a piece that lasts and one that does not.
